Major Edward Stimson was the commander of the 6th Recon Battalion ("Stimson's Stealthers"), and its Battalion Command Lance ("Stimson's Guards"), of the Eridani Light Horse's 151st Light Horse Regiment as of 3025.[1]

Stimson came from a family known for its long history of producing famous combat officers, a reputation Stimson himself lived up to. He was, however, a poor administrator, which caused his battalion to suffer from supply shortages and poor coordination.
When he was initially promoted to major, Stimson turned down a heavier 'Mech, preferring to build his command lance exclusively with light 'Mechs. While this means his personal lance can't decide battles, its speed ensures he can get to wherever he needs to be on the battlefield.[2]
