History[edit]
A small group of anonymous Lyran generals had become fed up with the ineffectual leadership of certain Social Generals, having seen them recently order several disastrous and irresponsible raids resulting in unnecessary casualties among various Lyran Guards detachments. To prevent Lyran blood from continuing to needlessly spill in their foolish quests for personal glory, the anonymous generals hired a mercenary outfit to remove two such officers, as they considered two deaths to save hundreds worth it.[1]
Lieutenant General Stevens was one such target, who was reported to be wildly paranoid and spent most of his days hidden away in his regimental headquarters office. The mercenaries attacked his base on Leganes—making it seem like a raid as they timed their strike to coincide with the gaps in standard patrol rotations—and killed Stevens while onsite security was minimal. The new acting commander, Colonel Eichmann, proclaimed the unit would rebuild from the tragedy and be all the stronger for it, while privately noting they had to cash in every political favor they had to influence who Stevens' replacement would be, as they could not survive another Social General.[1]
Notes[edit]
Colonel Eichmann was not given a first name in MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries.
