File talk:BattleTech-Kampfkolosse des 4 Jahrtausends-maps and rulebook.jpg

Research Notes: Principally an image for reference's sake. From same source as both File:BattleTech-Kampfkolosse des 4 Jahrtausends.jpg and File:BattleTech-Kampfkolosse des 4 Jahrtausends-standees and tokens.jpg, so establishes connection between cover, rulebook, and standees. Interesting fact: Unlike French and Spanish editions of BattleTech, Second Edition, the German edition's cover appears to be a new creation and not a near-copy of the cover of the original edition from which it is derived. The cover for this edition appears to the source for the later editions in Germany, France, and Spain.

Maps reported to be cardboard, not paper. Documents in upper left corner unclear, possibly original record sheets, but possibly also copies of pages in the rule book. (Back of rulebook is a record sheet, so it is possible that record sheets where incorporated into the rule book itself.) --Dude RB (talk) 22:32, 23 June 2022 (EDT)

Addendum: Image on the cover of this German edition also appears on the 1988-1989 FASA catalog. Perhaps both come from some other source, or perhaps one comes the other. Further research needed. --Dude RB (talk) 22:51, 23 June 2022 (EDT)

Isn't this image here File:BattleTech-Kampfkolosse des 4 Jahrtausends.jpg the same cover image as from NAIS The Fourth Succession War Military Atlas Volume 1?--HF22 (talk) 00:55, 25 June 2022 (EDT)
That is correct. Thanks for pointing that out. The NAIS The Fourth Succession War Military Atlas Volume 1 also came out in 1988. So it seems that they made much use of the image. --Dude RB (talk) 18:40, 25 June 2022 (EDT)
