Kurt Tanner was a Wolf's Dragoons MechWarrior, and later freelance mercenary, during the Dark Age Era.[2][1]

Wolf's Dragoons[edit]
Tanner trained at the Outreach Mercenary Training Command (OMTC), joining the Wolf's Dragoons for a short time as a reconnaissance and tracking MechWarrior, before leaving on amicable terms to become a freelance mercenary undertaking similar role for various employers.[2]
The Killer Penguins[edit]
By April 3152, Tanner was a lieutenant, and XO of the Kandersteg based The Killer Penguins mercenary unit. At this time, Tanner was interviewed by Voices of the Sphere, on the topic of the state of the mercenary market in the Inner Sphere following the fall of the Republic of the Sphere. In this interview, Tanner expressed his thankfulness about leaving the Dragoons given they had been double-crossed by Clan Wolf following the 3151 Battle of Terra, and his view that smaller units with less reputation at stake were at an advantage in generating profits.[1]
BattleMech[edit]
Kurt Tanner was known to have piloted a RVN-4R-L Raven BattleMech, nicknamed "Shadow."[2]
