A supervirus with no given name, this disease started as a biological agent released by Star League Defense Force Major General Alexander Touzinski of XI Corps during the Reunification War on the agrarian Taurian Concordat world of Landmark designed to ruin crops, kill livestock and sicken people.
These agents were intended to break down and die off within months, however due to unforeseen interactions with the environment on Landmark, they caused a supervirus to mutate. The effects of this virus went unnoticed for two years, before an epidemic broke out which killed tens of millions of people. The world was subsequently quarantined for three years, after which a vaccine had been developed.[1]
