BRIEFING

Badger: The surviving Steiner Mechworks isn’t far from our current location. We have transport helicopters waiting about two klicks to the east with an infiltration unit of Legion infantry and MechWarriors. Once you clear Nav Alpha of any resistance, they’ll move in. With luck, we might even get a few of our own pilots into their ‘Mechs.

OPERATIONAL OVERVIEW

Pillage: Before you go after Major Dupree, put a dent in the Steiner war machine by taking out their Mechworks. The salvage from this mission should give the Legion a decent edge in the final assault.

DURING MISSION

Badger: The Mechworks is straight ahead at Alpha. Don’t waste any time on subtlety. Just get in there and take them out.

Eric: You heard the man, Striker Lance. Hit ‘em hard and fast.

Badger: The Titan missile strike took out most of Steiner’s communications. We should have a limited amount of surprise on them.

Eric: Roger that.

Badger: Black Knight, I’m going to patch the transport chopper through to you.

Transport: We are to the southeast, Black Knight. Just wanted to alert you, you’ve got a tail. We see at least one lance of Assault ‘Mechs heading toward you. <blam> Confirm launch! LRMs inbound! Going evasive!

Badger: Make sure you take out the hostiles at Alpha quickly. Otherwise, you may be facing ‘Mechs on two fronts.

Mathers: Black Knight, my sensors are reading several support vehicles and four Assault ‘Mechs coming from Alpha.

Badger: Black Knight, we’ve intercepted some radio traffic at Alpha. Enemy MechWarriors are scrambling for the barracks. We confirm four powered-down Assault ‘Mechs. If we don’t take that barracks out quickly, expect some fierce opposition at Alpha. Badger out.

Eric: Badger, Alpha is secure. Repeat, Alpha secured.

Badger: Roger, transport chopper heading your way. You should have a visual on it momentarily. We can’t afford to lose the personnel on that chopper.

Eric: Should be easy, right now. Things are quiet down here, but we’ll look after her. Out.

Badger: Barracks destroyed! Hopefully that will keep those ‘Mechs powered down long enough for our boys to get there.

Transport: That was a close one, Black Knight. We saw at least four Assault ‘Mechs coming down the road full speed. They’ll be here in minutes. Passengers are on the ground and doing the sweep.

Transport: Transport here. Infantry is reporting some minor Steiner resistance. Seems they don’t want to play nice and hand over their toys. LZ should be clear in a moment. Out.

Badger: Black Knight, pilots are in the ‘Mechs and going through power-up procedures. Should have some friendlies any time now.

Badger: Sensors are picking up Steiner ‘Mechs just over a klick away from your position. There’s only one road out, and they’re on the way in.

Eric: Roger, Badger. Moving to engage.

Eric: Sensors show a clear scope. That’s the last of ‘em.

Transport: Excellent work! See you at the rendezvous location.

Isabel: Looking forward to getting my hands on one of those new chassis. Steiner won’t even know what hit him.
