Plot summary[edit]
Amidst the 3029 attack on David by Draconis Combine forces, local farmer Tybalt Jones assists the Federated Suns defenders. Avoiding Draconis attention, he helps smuggle food and supplies to the 12th Deneb Light Cavalry and, with a family heirloom Cortez, he gathers intelligence on the enemy mercenaries, Brion's Legion. Finally, distracting Colonel Pythonius Brion with dug-up ground resembling a minefield, Tybalt enables a direct attack on the commander of the enemy mercenaries, shattering the Legion.
