Talk:Posavatz (Bloodname)

Josef Posavatz[edit]

I don't have Field Manual: Mercenaries (Revised), but I don't recall a reference in Romanov's Crusaders about Josef Posavatz specifically being a Bloodnamed Clan warrior, nor do I recall if there's a passage about Romanov's Crusaders having any Bloodnamed Clan warriors.

Can someone confirm that FM: Mercs (revised) actually does include such a reference about Romanov's Crusaders having a Bloodnamed Clan warrior named Josef Posavatz?

If there is no such specific reference to Josef Posavatz being a Bloodnamed Clan warrior with Romanov's Crusaders, then it's recommended that Josef Posavatz be removed from this article, for the same reason that Rhett Weaver was removed from the Weaver bloodname article and Leslie Gruber was removed from the Gruber bloodname article.

Namely, that if there isn't a canon reference that says that an individual assigned to a unit in the Inner Sphere happens to have the same surname as a Clan bloodhouse actually has a Clan Bloodname, we can't just assume that the individual in question actually does has a Bloodname. In Rhett Weaver's case, there was pretty strong evidence that Rhett wasn't of Clan origins (because Rhett commanded an Inner Sphere unit before Operation REVIVAL), so Rhett couldn't have had a Weaver Bloodname. In Leslie's case, Leslie adopted "Gruber" as an Honorname, which is not the same as a Bloodname. 75.23.228.139 16:31, 29 September 2022 (EDT)
