Talk:Uniform Designation Protocols

Further topics of discussion[edit]

Would be interesting to see if a later canon source extended the UDP to

  • ProtoMechs (possible, given the late introduction of ProtoMechs and correspondingly small amount of ProtoMechs, which makes it easy to find a theme to retroactively fit them into the UDP)
  • Battle armor (possible, given the small amount of battle armor types, which also makes it easy to find a theme to retroactively make them part of the UDP)
  • Infantry equipment (possible, since not a lot of Clan manufactured infantry equipment has been identified)
  • OmniMechs (probably not possible, due to the sheer amount of OmniMechs, and probable lack of existing name theming behind the scenes)
  • Standard BattleMechs (probably not possible, due to the sheer amount of OmniMechs, and probable lack of existing name theming behind the scenes)
  • DropShips (probably not possible, due to the probable lack of existing name theming behind the scenes, although it is interesting that more than a few are named after people)
  • JumpShips (possible, due to the small amount of JumpShips of Clan manufacture)
  • WarShips (probably not possible, given that there aren't a lot of opportunities for new WarShip classes to be introduced)

Title of this article[edit]

I've noticed a reference to "Uniform Designation Protocol" on some articles descended from TRO: 3067, like the Chaeronea and the Issus.

When I created this article, it was from the "Victoria Ward" article, which said "Unit".

For those that have access to TRO 3067, what should this article be named? Should it be "Unit" or "Uniform"?

If it should be "Uniform", can this article's title be changed? I can't change article titles. :(
