This is a sub-template of {{S-bef}}. It is used to check value of the |before= parameter, to see if it contains words which indicate that it would be better to use another template such as {{S-vac}} or {{S-new}}, and to populate tracking categories:
- Category:S-bef: 'before' parameter begins with the word 'new'
- Category:S-bef: 'before' parameter includes the word 'created'
- Category:S-bef: 'before' parameter includes the word 'vacant'
- Category:S-bef: 'before' parameter includes the word 'suspended'
- Category:S-bef: 'before' parameter includes the word 'unknown'
