Virlutris was originally introduced to the BT/MW Universe when he rented Mechwarrior 3050 from a local video store.

He later rediscovered the setting when a friend in grad school started telling him about MechWarrior: Online. In April 2014, he registered his pilot name and started diving into MW:O gameplay and poring over Sarna.net to learn more about the lore of the larger BW/MW universe.
