History
Formed during the Star League era as the Taurian Concordat colonized new worlds in the region, the Second Brinton Defenders was a favored command, along with its sister regiments in I Corps and received a steady stream of new supplies and BattleMechs as a result of the constant struggle against pirates and raiders in the region.[1]
A pirate attack on Artru in the mid-2760s saw the raiders escape with millions of dollars worth of heat exchangers from the orbital warehouses operated by the Star League Department of Mega-Engineering, prompting the Second to be redeployed to the world in an effort to defend the terraforming operations. Artru was a harsh world and the Second was forced to spend much of its time confined to its base, something that caused a rising number of discipline problems as a result.[1]
