Andrew Subato Chou was a Draconis Combine officer of the Ryuken killed in combat on An Ting.

History[edit]

Andrew Subato Chou was a Combine officer which was choosen to join the newly formed Ryuken's regiments. At 3028, he was the second-in-command of Sho-sa Jerry Akuma, leading the Ryuken-ichi regiment, stationed on An Ting. Akuma's abrasive personality had chasen the best officers of the regiment, leaving it a unit mainly composed of green recruits.[2]

The 3 January 3028, Akuma's personal plans to annihilate the Wolf's Dragoons finally made began a open conflict between them and the Ryuken. That day, during a meeting with his superior, Jerry was very sure of the Dragoons were demoralized while observing a gathering at their headquarters through a spy camera. Chou attempted to advise caution, but Akuma didn't listened him. Instead, he sent the Ryuken-Ichi to attack the Dragoons headquarters, delegating fully that task on Chou, which distrusted and disliked his superior.[3]

The assault, as Chou feared, didn't fare well, and the Dragoons fought as posessed. Chou did what he could to at least keep them contained and preserve most of his regiment, but with limited success. The 11 January, after more than a week of continous battle, Chou was forced to retreat his forces from the Dragoons' attacks during a urban battle. Leading personally First Battalion, they fell into a Dragoons' ambush. Attacked by a Dragoons' Shadow Hawk piloted by Dechan Fraser, Chou was killed instantly by a hit on his cockpit. Chou's death signaled the end of the effective resistance of his regiment. With Akuma absent, the unit fell apart, and what little remained of it was unable to defend his headquarters or prevent the Dragoons from leaving An Ting.[4]
