General Cornel Stangher was the commander of the Star League Defense Force's Third Army from at least 2764 to 2766.[1][2][3]
History[edit]
Commander of the 129th BattleMech Division before his promotion to head the Third Army, Stangher was highly experienced with operating within the Federated Suns Outback region. Skilled at successfully utilizing his intelligence assets to identify the source of bandit raids in his expansive area of operations, he also provided his division commanders wide freedom to make appropriate tactical decisions once engaged. Conscious of the difficulty of keeping abreast of his far-flung units, General Stangher called together one corps annually to give him access to units he would otherwise not see personally for extended periods.[3]
During the Amaris Civil War, Stangher suffered from serious health issues and was therefore relieved of command in mid-2766 by Deputy Commanding General Aaron DeChavilier and replaced by General Jack Lucas.[2]
