Loren J. Hansen was the commanding officer of Hansen's Roughriders in the Late Dark Age Era.[3]

As the most recent scion of House Hansen to lead the famed Roughriders, Colonel Loren was acutely aware of the weight of history he beared. Across numerous difficult campaigns, he matured through phases of naivete, arrogance, hotheadedness, indecisiveness, and cautiousness to emerge as a canny tactician who still retained his fair share of the Roughriders' characteristic wild spirit.[4]
Hansen was landed and titled as the Duke of Tybalt as payment for Operation DAWN, the reconquest of the Robinson Operational Area.[5] In late 3151 he hired the First Kearny Highlanders to probe the supposed Capellan Confederation defenses on Caph, only to discover Clan Jade Falcon occupying the world.[6][7]
