Implicitly working for House Davion, they were on R&R on McHenry in 3022 and caught by surprise when Hamilton's Cavaliers of McCarron's Armored Cavalry attacked on the world during the second wave of McCarron's Long March. Over two thirds of Mathias's Forlorn Hope was destroyed; the rest surrendered, and handed over four new Crusaders to the attackers in exchange for their freedom.[1]
