Brief History of Mother Doctrine
During the reign of Terran Hegemony Director-General Margaret Cameron, the nation had made great strides in advancing civilian and military technology.
However, Lady Margaret, feeling her nation's future would be at stake should her nation's technology be leaked to her interstellar neighbors barred any technology trades.
By the late 2370s trade tensions had grown too great. Despite her personal feelings that technology should remain with Terra, maintaining it as a beacon of knowledge for humanity. She decided to compromise in order relieve tensions from other nations, her military and research establishment.
She enacted the Mother Doctrine in 2380, which would restrict technologies listed as sanative and secret from being exported to interstellar powers.[1]
