The Nibbler is a predatory rodent species native to jungle world Basalt.
Nibblers grow up to sixty centimeters in length and fifteen kilograms in weight. They are known for hunting and scavenging virtually anything and eating bones, sinews and hair along with meat. They are also noted for being both cannibalistic and territorial, two factors thought to hold their population in check.
Within cities on Basalt, a smaller species of the creature occupies the same ecological niche as rats do on other worlds.
