History

Related to the ruling Lyran Commonwealth's House Steiner, many assumed Steiner's appointment was a political one, but he was in fact a formidable armor commander. Regularly beating his fellow armor commander and Corps CO Major General Winnie Museveni in simulations, he was not however as experienced as an administrator at the Divisional level. This included a lack of experience leading his Division as a complete unit in combat, which he had not yet done as of 2764.

The leader of Steiner's BattleMech Brigade, Lieutenant General Harris Mansfield, believed however that he would have been promoted to lead the 127th, had Major General Museveni's biases against MechWarriors not intervened.[1]
