Major General Yashuhito Hosogai was the commander of the Star League Defense Force's Thirty-second Mechanized Infantry Division as of 2764.[1]

During her initial SLDF testing, despite scoring highly for intelligence and reasoning, her limited early education caused her technical scores to be much lower. Assigned to the infantry, Hosogai's hard work and keenness to learn served her well, assisting her to eventually earn an officer's commission.

After this point Hosogai quickly rose through the command ranks, until she was the youngest Division CO within Fourteenth Corps as of 2764, a fact she was extremely proud of.[1]
