Cromarty Black is a brand of "Northwind Whiskey" sold in a green three-sided bottle with a black and gold label.[1]

At the point of the drinks appearance in the novel The Hunters the bottle is said to be a 40-year-old whisky, dating it at 3018. "Cromarty city" on Northwind was renamed "Tara" at some point after the signing of the Northwind Agreement in 3028, thus making it unlikely that Cromarty Black is commercially available after this date.
