Colonel Heathrow Gullarson was the commander of the Pleiades Hussars as of 3151.[2]

History[edit]

Early Career[edit]

A counterinsurgency expert, Heathrow Gullarson spent most of his twenty year career with the Taurian Defense Force in the Pleiades Cluster, fighting against pro-Federated Suns resistance forces which did not accept Taurian rulership of the area.[2]

By 3151 he had ascended to command of the Pleiades Hussars, replacing Colonel Heather Gullarson who had been in charge as of 3145, though it is unknown if Heathrow was a relation of Heather.[3][2]

His long experience lead him to both despise and pity these insurgents, who he so routinely defeated. Similarly he had little respect for the regular Armed Forces of the Federated Suns units which had more recently sought to contest control of the Cluster, finding them inept and amateurish. This level of success made Heathrow more hawkish in relation to the Suns, advocating increased Taurian raiding into Davion territory, which in their weakened state he did not believe they could effectively respond to.[2]

Syrtis Scourge[edit]

In 3151, Heathrow was based on Maia in the Pleiades Cluster, when it has attacked by Duke Alexander Hasek and the Syrtis Scourge. Landing in Drop Cocoons within the city of Subaru with six Companies without warning, Colonel Gullarson ordered the defending Pleiades Hussars to withdraw from the city to the Theban foothills.

Sending for reinforcements, Gullarson settled into to fight a guerrilla campaign until relief arrived. However after three weeks the Hussars were able to lure Duke Hasek into a trap, which when sprung seriously damaged the Scourge. Reconsolidating, the two weakened forces were then locked into a week long stalemate, before Taurian reinforcements in the form of the Third Taurian Lancers forced Hasek to attempt a breakout. In the subsequent fighting however, the Scourge was destroyed, and Duke Hasek was captured.[4]
