Unit History[edit]
In February 2766 the Jade's Rangers, due to misidentification arising from Federated Suns units operating under radio silence while chasing bandit raiders, accidently engaged a company from the Seventh Crucis Lancers on Mirach.
In the engagement the better experienced and equipped Rangers defeated the Lancers, with Baroness Sandowski herself killing the opposing commander Captain Anthony Yarborough with a PPC shot to the cockpit of his RFL-3N Rifleman. The accidental conflict caused larger disputes between the two sides for months afterwards.[1]

The unit comprised at least a lance of BattleMechs.[1]
Notes[edit]
- The Seventh Crucis Lancers were officially not formed until 2784, from a Star League Defense Force unit which did not join Kerensky's Exodus.[2] It therefore is unclear if the name of the unit recorded as participating in this earlier engagement as the Seventh Crucis Lancers is incorrect, or if it is a predecessor unit of the same name.
