Jasmine's husband was detained for the twelfth time in a thirty-six month period, ten for DWI and two for public intoxication. While no one was hurt in the DWI incidents, and Yee did not resist arrest (confirmed in the last arrest by Patrolman Trace Shepard), police opinion was that it was only a matter of time before something did happen. Brandon Yee's case was stated to go to trial six weeks after the fifth of July 3080.
She explained that her husband suffered from Garm's Syndrome. The medicine needed to combat it, Niftra-K, had several side effects. One effect was that under the right conditions, Niftra-K could cause alcohol to be produced by the body, causing the person to become drunk without actually drinking alcohol.[1]
