The Megrez Treaty was an agreement made in 2531 between the Free Worlds League and the Lyran Commonwealth.
Brokered by the Terran Hegemony, the treaty concerned the status of the Bolan Thumb worlds which had been conquered by the League during the latter years of the Age of War. The Lyran Commonwealth grudgingly assented to Free Worlds' ownership of the Thumb, on condition that Hegemony peacekeepers would garrison the region to deter further League aggression and protect its former Commonwealth denizens. The Lyrans secretly intended to reclaim the Bolan worlds, but the advent of the Star League era ensured that this did not happen until three centuries later during the First Succession War.[1]
