I'm just wondering where the name Bartholomew came from. I have only ever seen him referred to as "Dr. B. Banzai" and, being a great fan of both BattleTech and The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension, I was quite disappointed to see that this obscure, subversive link between two of my beloved fictional settings has seemingly been permanently severed by giving him a definitive first name, effectively obliterating the possibility that he was actually Buckaroo Banzai even though it has been decades since the character has appeared in the setting, and I seriously doubt any legal action would result from such an obscure reference. Plus the fact that he was only ever referred to by his initial played well into his enigmatic image.
It was just a fun little connection for those of us who got he reference, and very FASA. The Jeff Laubenstein illustrations of Team Banzai in early BattleTech books even clearly portray him as Peter Weller/Buckaroo (bearing an EXTREMELY '80s Flock of Seagulls haircut, no less!)
Sorry for no identifying info on my first message, I thought I was logged in.
