As a member of the Third Royal Guard, Carter participated in the battle for Northwind following the Northwind Highlanders declaring independence from the Federated Commonwealth. Forming part of the forces seeking to retain Federated Commonwealth control over Northwind, Carter fought against the anti-Davion Highlander faction on 5th October 3057, as the pro-Davion allies sought to gain the refugee offered by a former Star League Defense Force fortress near the Tilman River, in a battle which was ultimately inconclusive.[1]

Carter was known to have piloted a T-IT-N10M Grand Titan BattleMech.[1]
