Major General Bertram Van Vleit was the commander of the Star League Defense Force's LV Corps from 2760 until at least 2764.[1]

History

Born in the Draconis Combine, Van Vleit and his family were forced to flee to the Terran Hegemony, after Coordinator Leonard Kurita ordered their deaths. Following Leonard's death, Van Vleit was granted Hegemony citizenship, and joined the SLDF. Despite this, he remained well versed in Japanese culture, language and martial arts.

After three years in SLDF service, Van Vleit attended West Point Military Academy, where he graduated near the top of his class. Rising steadily through the ranks, he was later promoted to lead LV Corps in 2760.[1]
