Description[edit]
Although suited more for space combat, since the stubby wings do not provide the maneuverability needed for atmospheric combat, the Transgressor is still highly considered among House Liao air lances. Compact with heavy armor, the Transgressor can stay in the fight long after other units have to withdraw due to damage. The energy weapon reliance does make it hard to control heat buildup, and pilots typically firing the laser batteries in salvos to give the heat sinks time to cool the craft.
Weapons and Equipment[edit]
The Transgressor is an energy weapon-only design in its original variation. One Selitex Radionic large laser and one Kajuka Type 2 "Bright Blossom" medium laser are mounted in the nose, with this pattern copied on each wing; the final medium laser is rear-mounted.
Variants[edit]
- TR-13A
- Appearing shortly after the engagement of Sun-Tzu Liao and Isis Marik, this variant exchanges the single heat sinks for double heat sinks and the large lasers for ER large lasers. BV (1.0) = 1,678[6][7], BV (2.0) = 1,664
- TR-14
- Removing the three large lasers and one ton of armor, the TR-14 replaces them with an AC/20 and 10 rounds of ammunition. While stopping heat buildup problems, this leaves the Transgressor lightly armed after the limited autocannon ammo has been expended. BV (1.0) = 1,185[8][9], BV (2.0) = 1,179
- TR-15
- Fielded in 3071, this model wields ER medium lasers, an ER large laser, and wing-mounted heavy PPCs. It uses an extralight engine to make space for these features. BV (1.0) = 1,193[10], BV (2.0) = 2,232
- TR-16
- A refit kit for the TR-14, this variant uses twin nose-mounted Gauss rifles with three tons of ammo. BV (1.0) = 1,937[11], BV (2.0) = 1,987
Notes[edit]
- In German products, the unit's proper name was translated to Missetäter. The model code was accordingly changed to MT-13.
- The primitive tech Dragonfire is said to be the inspiration for the Transgressor's airframe.
