History

The Sanibel was a vintage Star League era Tramp-class JumpShip operated by privateer Anton Kaiman. (Kaiman in turn liked to create the false impression that his deeds were committed by (or that he was working for) the notorious space pirate "Red Eye" Laudin.)[1]

The Sanibel was heavily involved in a raid against the PEn-NAM space habitat in the Viborg asteroid belt in 3057.[1]

A commemorative plaque found aboard the ship mentions the Canaveral, the Largo, the Key West and the Captiva as all being involved in the early colonization of what would become Melissa and Timbuktu Theaters of the Lyran Commonwealth.[2]
