History
The unit was formed in 2388[1] from the remains of the Chesterton Border Guard. The unit has been based for most of its history on Tikonov Prefecture region. The unit has been has known to be a "Hard Luck" regiment due to its tough battles and defeats against veteran forces.
Notable Events
- 2812 - 1st Ariana faced elements of House Davion elite Crucis Lancers, which turned disastrous.
- 2832 - The unit along with it sister regiment, 2nd Ariana Fusilers, battled against raiding 2nd Ceti Hussars while stationed on Tikonov. Due to bad leadership of junior officers, the unit was exposed to artillery fire & aerospace fighter attack. Resulting in the destruction of one-third of regiment's BattleMechs being destroyed.
- 2987 - The unit was part of the defense of Tikonov when the Federated Suns forces launched series of attacks. The unit gave valient defence against them, earning all three Battalion commanders posthumous decorations. However the unit lost half of its personnel and equipment over the course of the raids. The unit salvaged Davion BattleMechs, such as Locusts and Marauders BattleMechs to help it rebuilt.
- 3002 - Two days before Christmas, the unit fought a 14-hour battle in caverns against new Davion mercenary unit called Falkener's Hussars. The Hussars had been trying capture supplies in underground depot. The Fusilers defeated the Davion mercs, but took heavy damage on some of its precious 'Mechs.
- 3028 - After the initial first wave of the Fourth Succession War, only battalion worth of the unit managed to get off Algol.[2] Chancellor's son, Tormano Liao was captured by Davion forces.[3]
