Overview[edit]

The Forty-second Mechanized Infantry Division was a part of the Star League Defense Force Regular Army.

History[edit]

In 2764 the Forty-second was a part of XXXIX Corps within the Tenth Army and was assigned to District 3 of the Free Worlds League Military Region. The Forty-second was subsequently deployed into an undisclosed area of the Periphery in 2765 in response to the Periphery Uprising.[2] The Forty-second was destroyed during the Hegemony Campaign.[2]

Tactics[edit]

The Mechanized Infantry Divisions of the Star League were used offensively to exploit gaps in the enemy front created by the BattleMech Divisions. They also bore the brunt of defensive actions.

Composition History[edit]

The Division comprised two Brigades of Mechanized Infantry and a single BattleMech Brigade. Also attached was a Ground Aero Wing.[3]
