The Two Hundred and Sixty-Second BattleMech Division or the Chief Joseph Division was a part of the Star League Defense Force Regular Army.[1]

One regiment of the unit remained behind in Aleksandr Kerensky's Operation EXODUS and would become the mercenary Black Band Legion.

History

The 262nd formed a part of LVII Corps, Sixth Army, and in 2764 was stationed in District 2 of the Capellan Confederation Military Region. Following the New Vandenberg Uprising and subsequent Periphery uprising the 262nd was deployed into an undisclosed area of the Periphery.[1]

The 262nd suffered heavy losses in the Periphery in 2765 and the division was disbanded as a result; some elements of the division joined the rebels.[1]

These remaining elements eventually formed the Black Band Legion in 2774[2]

Composition

As an SLDF BattleMech division the 262nd would have been formed from two brigades of BattleMech regiments and a brigade of mechanized infantry regiments.[3]

  • 2621st Brigade [4]
