Description

Created in the early Twenty-Fourth Century, the Dunning Mobile Tactical Command Post is among the earliest command vehicles employed by the Inner Sphere. The vehicle's creation was due inpart for the need of the Terran Hegemony to better coordinate it's large military formations during their campaign to build up the Director-General James McKenna's new born nation. Field Marshal Mears Coblitz, the Commanding General of the Terran Hegemony's armed forces, he would push ahead with the development of the Dunning for his newly assembled army.

The Dunning was deployed to help achieve the Hegemony's ambitions during the Campaigns of Persuasion where it was initially used by Hegemony's Divisions in 2316 and 2317. It's performance providing field commanders means coordinating their troops motivated Field Marshall Coblitz to have additional vehicles produced for next wave of the campaign in 2320. These new vehicles were issued to regiments, brigades, and other formations to better coordinate Hegemony commands.

The vehicle would remain in service for centuries. The role it served in these later years as command vehicle for both governmental and civilian services. In such roles it would be used to aide coordinate planetary fire or police to civilian communication companies. The vehicle would fade from use by the 27th Century.[1]

Equipment

Designed with what would later be termed as Primitive Technology, however despite it's now seemly civilian construction. The Dunning several tons of communication equipment would continue to prove any services using it with good solid means coordinating their people. Powered by a internal combustion engine, the vehicle can move at reasonable pace and keep up with faster formations. However, vehicle half ton fuel system is used up quickly due to it's engine fuel inefficiency. While it's armor protection is merely 2.5 tons of primitive armor. The Dunning is not intended for frontline command, but does carry a 3 ton capacity hold infantry to provide security.[1]
