Description

First surveyed in 2236, El Dorado is a Terran planet roughly 15% larger than Earth itself with slightly higher gravity. It has 6 major continents (largest to smallest) of San Diego, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Santa Fe, Monterrey, and Durango are mostly outside the arctic circles. El Dorado has a large amount of arable land due to “The Super Lakes”, large fresh water lakes found on the largest continents of San Diego and Los Angeles.

El Dorado has one moon, known as Boulder, which appears silver and sapphire and is comprised of dense nitrogen-carbon dioxide atmosphere.

Due to life cycle of the planet, El Dorado’s core temperature is slightly hotter than that of Earth’s which causes increased tectonic action. Over the many centuries of colonization, the populace has steered clear of the worst volcano and quake zones.[1]

History

During the First Succession War, a raid by the Draconic Combine left El Dorado’s JumpShip yards in ruin, which cut El Dorado out from trade with other planets, trapping its exports and cut vital imports off from the heavily industrialized planet. Though the inhabitants suffered as a result immediately, businesses cropped up to supply these vital components that were once imported from aboard, giving El Dorado an ability to be nearly self sufficient.

El Dorado was largely untouched and unaffected by the Second Succession War and became a technological key player for the Federated Suns throughout the Third Succession War by supplying key components of the 25th-century technology to factories throughout the Realm.

El Dorado is also known for its renown universities known as the "Gilded Halls", which has allowed El Dorado to maintain its role a front runner in technology and manufacturing.[1]
