Firedrake

Description

The Firedrake is an incendiary support needler developed by Mauser and Grey for the Lyran armed forces. This infantry weapon uses special munitions which disintegrate and ignite upon contact with air, setting the target and the surrounding area ablaze. This weapon cannot pierce the heavy armor that is used by vehicles and BattleMechs, but is deadly effective against conventional infantry. It can also be used to set the terrain on fire, provided that the conditions are suitable for ignition.

Battle armor such as the Rottweiler can also make use of the Firedrake, employing it against their unarmored counterparts since its flechettes simply bounce off the armor of other battlesuits.
