Description

The term FrankenMech refers to BattleMechs that are heavily modified with or constructed entirely out of spare parts. An example would be something like combining the arms of a Marauder to the torso of a Warhammer with the legs of a Crusader. Designs like these became somewhat common during the Succession Wars as factories, spare parts, and reliable supply lines became increasingly rare.

It should be noted that several common BattleMechs today began their lives as FrankenMechs and were later turned into produced designs, such as the Cataphract.
