Description

The Heavy Bridgelayeris the largest and heaviest of the portable bridges able to be carried by Combat Vehicles and Support Vehicles. Once deployed the bridge can span terrain or rivers up to 30 metres across and 6 metres in differing heights. The Heavy Bridgelayer can support a maximum of 90 tons of weight per hex, however, if the bridge takes damage its ability to carry weight is reduced. [1]

Rules

Game Rules

At the end phase of a turn, the unit with the bridge layer may declare that it is deploying a bridge. The unit must remain stationary during the following turn. At the end of that turn, the bridge is placed in the hex directly in front of the bridge layer at an angle of the layers choosing. The bridge can be placed over any number of water hexes, but one end must be adjacent to at least one land or bridge hex. Additionally, there can be a maximum of one hex height in difference between the placement location and the end location of the bridge. The bridge can support up to twice its current CF rating in tons before collapsing. This limit is the total weight of all units occupying the bridge in one particular hex. [1]

Support Vehicles mounting a bridge layer share the same rules, except that any attack that would hit the turret of the vehicle instead hits the bridge. [1] Hover and WiGE based Support and Combat Vehicles, must first be landed before they are able to deploy the bridge. Naval units must be stationary and surfaced directly adjacent to the target hex to deploy the bridge.

Construction Rules

Quad BattleMechs, Quad IndustrialMechs, Ground Combat Vehicles, Naval Combat Vehicles and Support Vehicles with tracked, wheeled, hover, WiGE, or Naval motive systems, may mount a Bridgelayer. [2] [3]

Ground Combat Vehicles, Naval Combat Vehicles and Support Vehicles can only mount one bridge per location. Quad BattleMechs, and Quad IndustrialMechs can only mount bridges in torso locations, and only facing forward.
