Lee Faulks was a battalion commander and later unit commander of the Ninth Lyran Regulars during the Federated Commonwealth Civil War.[2]
History[edit]
Kommandant Faulks and the Ninth Lyran Regulars, under the command of Leutnant-General Jeanette Scarlett and in service to Archon Katherine Steiner-Davion, were dispatched to take the world of Inarcs in 3063. Facing the entrenched elements of the Seventh Crucis Lancers, the Ninth Regulars suffered serious losses on approach to the planet due to the Seventh Lancers' heavy aerospace support and matters only grew worse once planetfall was made on October 23. The First Battalion, under Leutnant-General Scarlett's command, made an contested landing under pressure from infantry and armor forces that ended in a withdrawal after the death of Scarlett. While Faulks and Second Battalion's landing zone was also badly harried by airborne and armored forces, he was able to organize his remaining troops and pushed directly into a sustained artillery bombardment. Believing the bombardment's accompanying armor and BattleMech support represented the entire strength of the Seventh Lancers, Faulks' battalion also began an emergency retreat. After the Third Battalion similarly fell back in the face of staunch opposition, the Ninth Regulars left Inarcs on 3 November and Faulks—now the ranking officer of the unit—falsely reported the presence of the entire Seventh Lancers to the Lyran Alliance Armed Forces' Military Intelligence Division.[2]
Faulks continued to command the Ninth Regulars during Operation AUDACITY but was killed in the fighting against Clan Jade Falcon on Black Earth.[1]
