The MechWarrior nicknamed "Metalhead" was a member of the Seventeenth Recon Regiment, also known as Camacho's Caballeros, in 3056. A Kiowa from one of the three Southwest Trinity worlds, Metalhead was a very big man, with a hawk nose set in a dark, round face - as well as a fairly ample paunch. Metalhead was a member of the Caballeros' Infante Company, serving under the colorful Captain Santos.[1]
On the 22nd of September 3056 Metalhead was one of the combatants in a duel with knives filmed by Archie Westin and his assistant Mariska "Risky" Savage. - Metalhead is only identified by his nickname in the novel Close Quarters, with no mention of his given name.
- Metalhead's rank is not given in Close Quarters, but the majority of the MechWarriors from the Caballeros who have their rank specified in the novel are Lieutenants, either Junior Grade or Senior Grade, making it likely - but not certain - that Metalhead was a Lieutenant of some rank too.
