In 2765 the SLS Nebraska was a Texas-class battleship that served as the flagship of the Star League Defense Force Eleventh Fleet under the command of Admiral Lewis Manseur. The SLS Nebraska and the Eleventh Fleet were deployed in the Taurian Concordat during the Periphery Uprising, and the Nebraska had the unfortunate distinction of being the most grievous loss the SLDF would suffer during the campaign.[1]
Taurian rebels used a fuel ship to destroy the Nebraska, and the debris from the explosion would also badly damage the SLS Cairo, although the Cairo did manage to move clear and continue combat operations despite the serious damage taken. While Admiral Manseur wasn't aboard the Nebraska at the time, the loss of the Nebraska was a hefty psychological blow for the SLDF at the time.[1]
Following the loss of the Nebraska, Admiral Mansuer transferred his flag to the Black Lion-class SLS Talitha Flyer.[1]
