Premier of the Soviet Union, died 2011. His death started the collapse of the Soviet Union, ultimately leading to the bloody Second Soviet Civil War.

Notable Accomplishments

Starting in 2005, Tikonov initiated peaceful reforms in the Soviet Union until his death.

On January 14, 2011, Tikonov signed what would come to be known as the Tikonov Accords, with then President of the United States.

Death

Oleg, his wife Nadja and his two children, Pyotir and Nicholas are assassinated by a fanatic Moslem terrorist in November of 2011.
