History
The roots of the brigade lie in conventional regiments. Emma Centrella announced the creation of the new brigade to honor a line of military leaders who were loyal to the Magistracy. The formation created some disturbance between the members of the Trinity Alliance, because no one excepted such action without information being provided to the others. The individual regiments are on their way to showing their loyalty through serious service. [1]
The name for the new unit comes from a noble line in Centrella family history. In 2689, Kim Centrella gave birth to triplets. The two boys took their father's surname, Raventhir, thus establishing the Raventhiri noble family line.[2]
During the Jihad the Raventhir Cuirassiers spent their time protecting the Magistracy from pirates and bandits, some of which were likely backed by the Word of Blake. These units were not equipped with the advanced technology needed to defeat the Blakists, so this decision made sense. By 3085 the two units had been broken up into battalion sized units and stationed on worlds on the Magistracy's border with the Fronc Reaches. There they had to deal with a great deal of pirate activity.[3]
Officers
The commander of the brigade was General Mavis Cooper in 3064.[4] General Cooper was demoted to Colonel in 3085, and the Raventhir Cuirassiers brigade was under the command of General Hanna Lewis.[5]
In 3145 the brigade is commanded by General Helen Thomas.[6]
