Description
The Silverfin was developed at the dawn of the 24th Century. The cutter was designed for policing coastal waters and acting as a escort vessel for large naval vessels. Its ideal for patrol & intercepting smugglers, but not traditional combat due to its armor.
The designed was employed by all major Great Houses' water-rich worlds.
Armaments & Features
The Silverfin's main weapon is the its navalized Magnum-Sperry Machine gun[1] mounted front of the ship. It also has two Short-Range two-tube Torpedo launchers for anti-submarine warfare placed in its bow turret. Both weapon systems are tied into the ship's Advanced Fire Control system. The ammunition bay found in the mainbody carries, half ton of machine gun ammo and 1 ton of SRT-2 ammunition. The ship has 1 ton cargo capacity to hold crew supplies.
The ship however, is lightly armored with Windancer Lightwave armor.[2] However, the ships speed produced by its powerful hydrofoil enhanced propulsion engine allows the ship to achieve 120 km/ph when it is engaged in "Hydrofoil mode". The high speed increases the ship's survivalablity.[3]
The ship features a Hydrofoil chassis and control modifications, lifeboat, two seachlights, on mounted in the turret and on the front/bow of the ship.
