He obtained his position in the Seventh Jaguar Dragoons by challenging and defeating an older MechWarrior by using his strength to overwhelm and outlast his adversary. Upon pinning his opponent, he punctuated his victory by biting off his opponent's ear. Thereafter he kept the ear as a reminder and trophy of that victory.
