Vessel Profile

ClassLeopard

The Subotai was a Leopard-class DropShip[1] operated by the Draconis Combine forces at Verthandi in 3025.

History[edit]

The vessel was modified to carry a company of twelve[2] light GAL-100 Galleon tanks instead of the usual 'Mech bays.[3]

During the Gray Death Legion's breakthrough to the planet on 25 October 3025 the Subotai served as a tactical transport for its tank contingent to the landing zone of the Legion's DropShip Phobos. En route, the ship picked up the distress beacon of Sue Ellen Klein's disabled Chippewa aerospace fighter and took the stranded pilot captive. This delayed the arrival of the Subotai at the destination; the belated arrival of the tanks on the battlefield may have been the deciding factor that allowed the Gray Death Legion to go to ground on Verthandi.
