Description

The Wyren Claws have been fighting in the BBL League for a long time. The stable had six good years before the Blakist invasion of Solaris, but its future was not good when the Jihad ended, as all rebuilding efforts went into Solaris City. But once the money started to flow again, and with BBL back in business, the Claws are fielding an experienced team, and look to claim the league title for the first time.[1]

The Wyren Claws use BBL's facilities to store their equipment, but have a different training area to hide their tactics from their rival Stables. Located in Xolara and located in a walled compound two kilometers from the Rankar's Deep, the compound consists of a small apartment building with a multi-car garage, and an open area. It is guarded by a dozen former DCMS soldiers who may or may not be armed. To reduce operational expenses, the Claws generally use two reconditioned FWL simulators to run tactical exercises instead of real 'Mech fights.attend parties.[2]

The Stable was one of the twelve that returned in 3086 to fight in the BBL.[3]

Stable Master and Owners

Jo Noda is the Claws' StableMaster. The man's pre-Solaris past is unknown, but his looks are those of a Yakuza enforcer. Those who know him a more would tell that he is a pleasant man who never says a bad word about anybody. During his Solaris years he has worked for several Combine-affiliated stables prior to becoming the Claws' Stablemaster. He steered the stable though the Blakist invasion and the aftermath, and was one of the first stablemasters to sign up for the first post-Jihad BBL season.[4]

Notable Personnel

Instructors

  • Team captain David Sanada also acts as head instructor for the stable, overseen by the stablemaster, Jo Noda.[5]

Technicians

  • Gil Brody is their senior tech of the stables, having served ten years with Silver Dragon Stables before the Jihad. He is an old Solaris hand who's found a home with the Claws. He lives, breathes, and eats 'Mechs. and it is the force behing the team's success making the 'Mechs ready for every match.[6]

Like most BBL stables, the tech staff is small, with all the MechWarriors serving as astechs to help get the 'Mechs ready every week. The Claws have three full-time techs, three part-time techs, and five full time astechs. But they are able to get all 'Mechs ready every week.

The Claws Techs are also masters at salvaging parts from other arenas' scrapheaps (stealing), though that has made them unpopular with those other arenas.[7]

MechWarriors

In 3051 10 MechWarriors were fighting for Wyren Claws Stables.[1] It is unknown how many MechWarriors were fighting for Wyren Claws Stables during the Dark Age.
