History

The XVI Hastati Sentinels (or Sixteenth Hastati Sentinels) were formed explicitly to participate in assaults and fight Clan forces. As a result they were largely equipped with heavy and assault 'Mechs, many of which were OmniMechs. Observers within Fortress Republic assumed that the Sixteenth would probably be one of the first Republic units to face the Wolf Empire or the Jade Falcons.[1]

The Sixteenth was stationed on Zollikofen in 3145.[2]

The Sixteenth landed on Menkent in January 3149 and forced the Twelfth Falcon Hussars to withdraw from the world.[3]
