The Zeerga is a predatory species native to the "homeworld" of Clan Wolf (though it is unclear what planet the author considered to be Clan Wolf's homeworld as of 3052). Nothing else is explained about the creature. The reference to a "bull" challenge and a "foal" seems to indicate a largish animal invoking comparison with bovine or equine terran animals.
Zeerga Bull Challenge
The Zeerga is associated with the "Zeerga Bull Challenge", a ritual among trueborn Clan Wolf warriors in particular and also those mimicking them, such as the freeborns of the Gurbeng Garrison Cluster: A group of Clan warriors must steal a zeerga foal from its protecting sire as part of this challenge.[1]
