History[edit]
The First Liao Lancers were raised as part of the Liao Lancers brigade. As was traditional with the Liao Lancers, approximately one third of their force consisted of citizens of their namesake world, in this case Sarna, the Commonality capital world. Unlike the Sarna Sabres unit they replaced, the First set a new standard for behavior for Sarna Commonality units. They totally lacked the bloodlust of their forebears, and were instead a professional unit.[1]
They were one of the seven Liao Lancer units to exist before the repeal of the Council Edict of 2650. In 2765 they were stationed on Bora.[1]
